Partners and equipment

GRS trusted Partners and Products.

We are privileged to work with many excellent brands in the firearms industry, test a lot of equipment in the field, and often get questions about what we use and recommend in our videos and blog posts. So, I thought we should list GRS’s preferred partners and equipment recommendations for you all to see.

Rifle Manufacturers.

  • Savage Arms. We have used the Savage 110 Tactical carbon in many of our shooting adventures. The 6.5PRC cartridge was my choice, and it can be seen in these HUNTING and SHOOTING videos on YouTube.
  • Bergara Rifles. We are using The Bergara B14 HMR in the 308, 6,5PRC & 300PRC calibers. All of these rifles perform flawlessly, and they are an excellent choice for starting to shoot long-range.
  • Browning X Bolt. We use two factory custom rifles in the 6.5PRC cartridge. The top photo shows our setup in the GRS Warg stock.
  • Mauser M18 Fenris. This rifle is on its way to us now in the mighty 7mm PRC cartridge. We are excited to start using it!
  • Blaser Rifles. I do not have the count of how many rounds we have shot with the R8 through the years. This has been Oscar’s go-to rifle since 2012, and he still uses it in 338 Lapua for long-range precision work accompanied by the GRS Ragnarok.

Ammunition Manufacturers.

  • Hornady Ammunition. We have worked with our good friends at Hornady for many of our adventures, and we are true believers in the 6,5PRC and 300PRC match ammunition. Excellent product we have used out to 2436 meters in Utah.
  • Norma ammunition. Being from Norway, this is where it all began, and for good reason. From the early days of Norma Elite to the Qryx and now the monolithic bullets, Norma delivers excellence. The Best group Oscar ever shot was with Norma Diamondline 6,5×55, 0,2mm@ 100 meters with his trusted Blaser R8 rifle.

Rifle Scopes, Spotting Scopes, Binoculars, and Mounts.

  • Leupold Optics. We love Leupold and the Team. We use the Mark 5HD series in the 3.6-18×44, 5-25×56, and 7-35×56 versions and the Mark 4 20-60×80 spotting scope. They are tough as nails and always on point with tracking. They are not the most affordable, but they are fantastic value for money.
  • Element Optics are fine scopes and the Element Titan 3-18×50 FFP is my favorite when shooting with front-mounted Thermals. These scopes are fantastic value for money!!
  • Sig Electro-Optics. I started using the Sig Kilo10 Gen II in 2022. The way this syncs to your phone and Applied Ballistics software is awesome, and its capacity to range up to eight kilometers is more than enough for our use.
  • Warne Scope Mounts have been our choice for our long-range addiction, and the Skyline Mounts are now on all our setups. We love the added functions with levels and range cards.

Shooting Equipment.

  • The tripod we have used on almost all our shooting events the last years is the BOG Deathgrip. Fantastic rigidity, affordable and flexible in any shooting position.
  • We have used the Eberlerstock Gunslinger rifle bags in years of service and in civilian life. It is expensive, but it will last you for many years to come. We also used the Battleship model in our last mountain expeditions, with fantastic load capacity, and comfort.
  • Kestrel 5700 Ballistic has been with us for a number of years. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who is shooting at extended ranges.
  • Sordin Supreme Pro X hearing protection is an excellent gear we recommend you use, with fantastic dampening and fit.

Clothing & Shoes.

  • First Lite hunting apparel is fantastic hunting clothing made by hunters for hunters and my top pick for hunting and shooting in the US.
  • Sasta’s hunting collection is fantastic and we have used many of their models. The outdoors collection with the Waxed fabrics is awesome.
  • Brynje of Norway knows the cold, and we use their products in service (yes, several of us in GRS are still in the National Guard) and in civilian life. The wool clothing they provide is a favorite for most Norwegian Arctic expeditions.
  • Alfa boots are fantastic value for money. I have been using them for 28 years and still going strong.
  • Bestard Arctic Explorer boots are the best I have ever used. I’m sorry, Alfa, but these are insanely comfortable.

Hunting and Training Companies.

  • PD Van Den Berg, owner of VDB Safaris, is a Professional hunter and our good friend from South Africa. We have hunted many times with PD and can wholeheartedly recommend him. If you have the itch to hunt in Africa, check out his outfitting company!
  • Mountain Shooting Center in Utah is one of the finest training sessions I have ever attended. Shooting from 100-2436 meters in angles up to 45*, this high-altitude and extreme-angle training truly tested our knowledge to the limit. Fantastic teacher in Ward Brian.
  • Hunting Carolinas and our good friend Ryan Kuperus, or “Koup” as friends call him, has a great spot for hunting Hogs, Coyotes, and Bears in South Carolina. There is no fancy lodge in this spot, but man, the atmosphere around the campfire is like nothing else.
  • The Reason Outdoors is an SF veteran-founded organization we have worked with and supported in the US. The people behind it are fantastic. Their goal is to provide ecotherapy to help veterans, first responders, and their families.
