I have used Bergara HMR Rifles for years, and they are incredibly well-made, so naturally, that is what I want to use for my next build!
When I considered this new build, I wanted to base it around the 7mm PRC (precision rifle cartridge) developed by Hornady in 2022. I have tried this cartridge on several occasions, out to 1 mile, and it is fantastic.
I wanted to create a setup that I could use for long-range shooting (out to 1600 meters+) and hunting (Max 1000 meters on a perfect still day)
This rifle is not excessively heavy, so it is easy to transport in my Ebelerstock backpack when hunting, yet it is heavy and stable enough to be effective on extended ranges.
The components I am using in this build
- Bergara B14 HMR, 7 PRC, this has a 26 inch heavy barrel and a 1-8 twistrate. Perfect for long bullets.
- Leupold Mark 4HD 6-24×52 (34mm main tube) FFP PR2-Mil ZeroLock E/W
- Vortex Impact 4000 laser rangefinder with ballistics software.
- Warne Skyline Precision mounts and accessories. I really like these!
- GRS Warg stock, my favorite stock for longrange hunting applications.
- GRS Bipod & Adapter set, Perfect for my style of shooting.
- GRS Bag rider and the GRS Rear Bag
- MLok Weights to balance the rifle.
- A-Tec Marksman silencer and Muzzlebreak.
This build will be filmed and here is the first one in the video series, the next one is just around the corner!
